GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is considered the international standard for the responsible and sustainable production of clothing and textile products made from organically grown natural fibres such as cotton and wool.

The GOTS establishes the requirements to be respected throughout the supply chain, regarding the ecological and social conditions in the production of natural fabrics, using organically produced raw materials. Organic production is based on an agricultural system that supports and restores soil fertility without the use of toxic pesticides and persistent synthetic fertilisers. Furthermore, it outlines the standards to be respected to protect animals and the ban on the use of genetically modified organisms.

The adoption of the GOTS certification allows companies to be more competitive on the main markets, also encouraging the consumer towards a more informed purchase.

PAYPER FOR GOTS

Payper has adhered to the GOTS Standard with the aim of favouring a more sustainable clothing production, with an ever-increasing focus on the choice of organic fabrics, deriving from controlled organic supply chains.

Being part of this supply chain allows companies like ours to be even more transparent.

GOTS ADVANTAGES

The advantages, in fact, are many and include:

  • Global guarantee: GOTS products are not only a guarantee of the origin of the product, but also of responsible processing, which covers the entire production chain;
  • Social responsibility: the GOTS establishes requirements for working and social practices consistent with the main social sustainability standards;
  • Support in environmental management: membership allows companies to track the consumption of resources and, based on the results obtained, to intervene to reduce environmental impact;
  • Traceability: the GOTS certification enables an improved management of the production chain, ensuring greater transparency.

Adopting the GOTS certification allows making a difference in the market, bringing greater value to products, while respecting the environment.
